I was raised in a good Christian home, but failed to see my need for the Lord until I was 15 years of age. Like so many young people, my goals and dreams were not lined up with the Word of God. I had my goals, my plans, my desires, my own way and to be honest with you, I was miserable. My parents never stopped praying for me, witnessing to me and giving me opportunities to hear the Gospel, hoping that my life would be turned around. They asked my Sunday School Teacher to come by one evening to talk to me about the Lord. It was 23 degrees below zero that cold January night, but I am thankful for a faithful soul winner who cared for my soul and a Wonderful Saviour who saved a very troubled soul. Two years later, I was called of God to be a preacher of the Gospel of Jesus Christ. This is not something to be taken lightly. Several months of prayer and soul searching brought me to the crossroad of decision: GOD’S WAY OR MY OWN WAY. Praise the Lord, I went with God and surrendered my life to be a preacher of the Gospel. I am a 1991 graduate of Hyles-Anderson College. In 1992 my high-school sweetheart and I were married in Hammond. Then in 1994, we moved to Mediapolis, Iowa to take the position as the Assistant Pastor of the First Baptist Church. In the year 2000, I accepted the call to be the Pastor of the First Baptist Church of Mediapolis and have been here ever since. |
